Arrival at Mennies house

At the moment I´m waiting.
For response and approvals from clients.

So I got time to create some personal stuff.
Part of it is the Insolitus portraits you can see below, the other part is new frames for my graphic novel that goes by the name of Ramone Bosco. It´s a huge and complicated project that will take ages to complete. But I´m not rushing.
Today I present a piece called Arrival at Mennies house.

PSP contest winner

This is my contribution to a Sony PSP 3000 competition.
The goal was to design a Playstation Portable as it could have been if designed in the 1950´s.

The prize was a PSP 3000 and the game Resistance Retribution.
Did I win?
Yes!

I´ve never won anything in my whole life, never the lottery, never in competitions.
I´m very glad. My son is too...

Sweeney Todd

I´m about to illustrate an english learning book based on the original version of Sweeney Todd.
By reading it I´ve come to the conclusion that the Tim Burton version is like a picnic on a sunny summer day in comparision... very cruel and dark stuff.

There is 48 illustrations to make for the book in just a few months. A very big challenge but also much fun.

Here is an early character sketch of Mr Todd. Very early. Now he looks more like an ogre.

Boss Oaken Artbuckle bye bye

This blog started out in swedish.
The idea was to submit crazy ideas and silly humour.
It was a place for my alter ego Boss Oaken Artbuckle to reign supreme.
But as always I was too busy to take care of the blog so eventually I forgot about it.

Lately I´ve built a new personal website.
I want a news section but as the limited hacker I am I just can´t figure out how to do it.

So bye bye ´Boss Oaken Artbuckle´, here is ´Distortions and Mysteries´ version 2.0 -the news section linked from my website.
It won´t be a very active news/blog but every now and then I will post some stuff.

Jätten som försvann

Ibland är det hårt att vara illustratör.
En hel dag kämpade jag med detta ansikte tillhörandes en karaktär i en bok jag arbetar med omslaget till. Jag var mycket nöjd och allt kändes fint tills jag fick svaret att ansiktet i fråga endast skulle synas från hakan och nedåt...
Tungt.
Eftersom det är mycket hemlighetsmakeri i denna bransch kan jag inte nämna vad boken i fråga heter men ansiktet som inte kommer att synas syns i alla fall här.

Mystiska varelser fångade på bild

Under en till synes beskedlig vandring utanför ett gammalt slott någonstans i mellersta sverige upptäckte vi dessa figurer som gömde sig bakom några träd.
Lyckades fånga dem på bild innan de under susande läten "flög" iväg, som kan skönjas på den tredje bilden till höger

Distortion och Graffiti

Fick en impuls att testa något jag inte gjort på kanske femton år, graffiti.
Ringrostig är inte ens förnamnet utan även efternamnet men det var en gemytlig upplevelse.
Har nästan fått mersmak.
Kanske man skulle ut och göra staden lite vackrare?
